Borussia Dortmund Sign Erling Haaland
The Striker Will Give Dortmund a Focal Point in Attack
Borussia Dortmund announced via their Twitter account they had signed the Norwegian striker. He has agreed a contract which runs until 2024.
Haaland is one of Europe’s hottest talents and it’s a real coup for Dortmund. The striker has sparkled at RB Salzburg scoring eight goals in six group games. He is the type of signing you would expect from Borussia Dortmund with the Germans renowned for signing young players to develop.
The striker offers everything going forward. His hold up play is excellent; he can play with his feet and knows how to find the net. The 19-year-old is ready for the challenge as Dortmund look to secure some much-needed silverware. Haaland is expected to become Dortmund’s main striker with injuries blighting Paco Alcacer. Dortmund needed an all-round striker and certainly, Haaland is a quality addition to an already exciting Dortmund team.
Dortmund Beat Several European Rivals for The Talented Teenager
Borussia Dortmund beat the likes of Manchester United and RB Leipzig for the signature of Erling Haaland. Dortmund’s quest for a consistent striker appears to have been sorted with Haaland ready to light up the Bundesliga in 2020.
Dortmund haven’t confirmed the fee agreed with Salzburg, but the striker was rumoured to have a release clause in his contract. A terrific signing for Dortmund who have craved a striker with only Paco Alcacer at the club who is a natural striker. Lucien Favre has used Mario Gotze and Marco Reus up front when Alcacer isn’t available. Haaland solves that issue and he could make his debut for the club when the Bundesliga resumes. His first game could be against FC Augsburg.
