They are scouting various clubs including Birmingham City and it is now reported by Mike McGrath of The Telegraph that they are interested in Jude Bellingham.
Manchester United Interested in Signing Jude Bellingham
Fantastic Season So Far
The central midfielder has sparkled thus far in the Championship with mid-table Birmingham. It is likely, though, that Manchester United will face competition from their Premier League rivals. There is also plenty of interest from across Europe with many Bundesliga clubs also chasing the teenager.
United are continuing their policy under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer of finding young players to develop and grow in the next few years. United are expected to be active in the transfer window following a mixed summer window prior to the season starting. Central midfield is certainly an area they have been lacking with several players out of form or injured. They allowed the likes of Ander Herrera to depart and never found a replacement.
Birmingham will no doubt be very reluctant to let the teenager depart having only made his breakthrough this season. The 16-year-old has been impressive in the Blues midfield despite their inconsistent form this campaign. The Blues will be determined to keep hold of him as they try and mount a charge towards the Championship play-off places.
Enjoyable Campaign
Bellingham has been impressive in his breakthrough season. The teenager has scored two league goals and looked assured in the heart of Birmingham’s midfield. Pep Clotet sees him as a vital cog in his team and certainly Birmingham will be very reluctant to let him leave. He has broken several records at the club including becoming the club’s youngest ever debutant and youngest ever goalscorer.
It will be very hard to resist if Manchester United come calling but Birmingham will be confident they can keep him during the winter window.
