Another pulsating round of Ligue 1 matches has come to an end, with plenty of talking points and exciting action. Paris Saint-Germain maintained their five-point lead, Marseille collected a sixth straight league win and there were huge wins for Nice, Reims and Strasbourg. Here are the results for our latest set of Ligue 1 predictions.
Ligue 1 Prediction Results
Toulouse Suffer Seventh Consecutive Defeat
Toulouse’s miserable form continued as they lost to Strasbourg, a seventh straight defeat for Les Violets. Antoine Kombouare has collected just three points out of a possible 24 since taking over. In contrast, it’s another excellent win for Strasbourg and the perfect response to their hammering from Brest.
The visitors started well when Nicolas Isimit-Mirin opened the scoring, but they soon crumbled as Strasbourg turned the game around courtesy of goals from Lamine Kone, Adrien Thomasson and Ludovic Ajorque. Wesley Said pulled one back for Toulouse but Lebo Mothiba ensured a first win in three games for Strasbourg.
Seven straight defeats leave Toulouse bottom of Ligue 1 and the pressure is increasing on Kombouare. Strasbourg stays 15th but crucially open a six-point gap on the relegation zone.
Reims Turn on the Style Against Saint Etienne
Reims ended their five-match winless run in style by comfortably beating Saint Etienne. It was the first time this season Reims had scored more than two goals in a game. It’s a pleasing return to form for David Guion’s team, while it was disappointment for Claude Puel, whose team slump to a second defeat in three games.
Remi Oudin put Reims ahead in the opening ten minutes. Romain Hamouma equalised but Reims dominated the final exchanges and sealed the win thanks to Boulaye Dia and Moussa Doumbia.
Reims move into the top half while Saint Etienne drop to eighth, level on points with bitter rivals Lyon
