Another pulsating round of Ligue 1 matches has come to an end, with plenty of talking points and exciting action. Paris Saint-Germain’s game fell to the weather, while the basement battle between Nimes and Metz finished all square. While Rennes, Nantes, Nice and Lille collected much-needed wins, easing the pressure on Nice boss Patrick Vieria.
Ligue 1 Predictions: Pressure Eases on Patrick Vieira
Arnaud Lusamba and Myziane Maolida on Point
Nice collected a much-needed win as they saw off Angers on the Riviera. Goals from Arnaud Lusamba, Myziane Maolida and Kasper Dolberg secured victory. It was a crucial win for Patrick Vieira and his team whose season has flattered to deceive thus far.
The visitors started well when Angelo Fulgini gave them the lead. However, Nice responded well and deservedly levelled through Lusamba, who scored his first Ligue 1 goal. Maolida set up the first and soon got Nice’s second goal. Dolberg wrapped up three points just before stoppage time. The Danish international fired his third league goal past Ludovic Butelle.
Nice climb to 12th, just three points off the Champions League places, while stay third despite their loss.
Saint Etienne Suffer First League Defeat Under Claude Puel
Claude Puel suffered his first league defeat as Saint Etienne boss courtesy of a stoppage-time Rennes winner. It was disappointing first loss for the Saint Etienne manager who saw his team concede the lead, while on the contrary, it was a crucial win for Julian Stephan and his team.
Lois Diony gave Saint Etienne the lead but goals from Raphinha and Damien Da Silva completed Rennes’ tremendous comeback. Saint Etienne suffer a first league loss since mid-September, while Rennes secure a second win in three games.
