Bordeaux Secure Second Win in Three Games

Bordeaux came from a goal down to beat Monaco. Paulo Sousa’s rallied after Monaco’s fast start to the game. A significant win for Bordeaux whose European football chances are looking strong.

Monaco struck first in the opening 15 minutes when Islam Slimani struck his sixth goal of the season. The Algerian latched onto strike partner Wissam Ben Yedder’s flick. Bordeaux responded well and levelled through Pablo who headed Nicolas De Preville’s corner past Benjamin Lecomte.

The game’s turning point arrived midway through the second half when Islam Slimani was given a second yellow card. The Algerian handled De Preville’s free kick in the box. Up steps Nicolas De Preville who scores the penalty to give Bordeaux all three points.

The result sees Bordeaux secure a second win in three games. Paulo Sousa’s team climb to fourth. Monaco drop to 14th just four points clear of the relegation zone.

Strasbourg Collect First Away Win in Style

Strasbourg collected a first away win of the season in style by thrashing Amiens 4-0. The visitors were outstanding as they brushed aside Luka Elsner’s team.

Goals from Anthony Caci, Ludovic Ajorque, Lebo Mothiba and Nuno Da Costa secured a crucial first away success. Caci scored the opener after he latched onto Lebo Mothiba’s pass. The second was a breath-taking counter finished off by Ajorque. Two goals in four minutes killed the contest as Mothiba scored a third goal in two games and Da Costa headed in number four.
