Welcome to another edition of Last Word On Football’s round-up of the latest transfer rumours. This time, we look at a potential swap deal between AC Milan and Everton for two underperforming stars and a potential move that could see someone appear for his former rivals.
Latest Transfer Rumours
AC Milan and Everton Could Do Swap Deal
According to Sport Witness, via Calciomercatto, AC Milan and Everton are considering a swap deal between Krzysztof Piatek and Moise Kean.
The latter only arrived on Merseyside at the start of this season but has struggled to settle in, while Piatek’s form has dipped severely in comparison to what it was after he signed for Milan from Genoa.
The Toffees may be reluctant to give up on Kean yet as he has only been at the club for a matter of months, but the teenager that arrived from Juventus came with a potential that is yet to be seen in any form.
Edin Dzeko Could Join Former Rivals
Edin Dzeko could link up with former rivals Manchester United in the upcoming January transfer window, according to Mark Ogden of ESPN.
Dzeko spent a relatively successful part of his career on the other side of Manchester, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to want a proven goalscorer in the side and the Bosnian has moved ahead of Mario Mandzukic in United’s list.
So far this season, Dzeko has notched six goals in 15 games, while his spell at Manchester City saw him score 50 goals in 130 games.
Aston Villa Keeping Tabs on Alfredo Morelos
Newly-promoted Aston Villa reportedly want to bolster their squad further with the signing of another striker. The Villains spent big in the summer, splashing well over £100 million, a fair chunk of which was spent on Wesley.
However, injury-hampered Jonathan Kodija is being linked with a move to Qatar and Wesley himself is still adapting to life in the Premier League, despite impressing so far.
The Athletic, via the Birmingham Mail, report that Dean Smith’s side are keeping an eye on Alfredo Morelos at Rangers. The Colombia international has been in fine form for Steven Gerrard’s side and a move to the Premier League could beckon if he keeps up this current vein.
Three-Way Battle for Denis Geiger
According to Sport1, Everton, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are all chasing a deal for Dennis Geiger.
The 21-year-old Hoffenheim midfielder broke into the first team back in 2017 and has slowly progressed with the German side. In addition, he has represented Germany at U15, U16, U17, U19 and U21 level.
Newcastle, Leicester and Celtic Scouting Le Mans Winger
Newcastle United, Leicester City and Celtic have all been scouting Le Mans winger Stephane Diarra, according to L’Equipe (via Get French Football News).
The 20-year-old has scored twice in 10 games for the French Ligue 2 side this season and has the highest dribble completion rate in the division with 74%.
