Legacy Left Behind But Left In Tatters
The Argentinian we leave a legacy behind in North London. He has established the club as a regular in the UEFA Champions League and has overseen a successful transition into the new stadium.
Mauricio Pochettino’s biggest success at Tottenham came last season, managing his side to the final of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League. Despite coming up short in the final against Liverpool, Tottenham fans will still remember their great run to the final, including Lucas Moura‘s last-minute goal to send them to the final.
However, their form so far this season will arguably leave his legacy in tatters. Tottenham currently lie in 14th place in the league, with just three wins 12 Premier League games. Pochettino leaves the club just six points off of the relegation zone.
Why Has Mauricio Pochettino Left Tottenham?
Several rumours have circled as to why Tottenham are in such a bad run of form. However, perhaps most indicative is the neglect of the squad.
Tottenham, until this summer, failed to recycle their squad by adding new additions. As a result, they have been left with an ageing squad that their opposition are all to used to.
Furthermore, there has also been rumours of discontent among the squad, most noticeable to do with Christian Eriksen. The Danish midfielder was reportedly looking to leave Tottenham for Real Madrid during the summer. However, he was not allowed to. As a result, the 27-year-old now looks to set run down the remainder of his contract in North London.
Tottenham will now be hoping to make a swift appointment quickly. They face West Ham in their next Premier League fixture.
