Latest Transfer Rumours
Renewed Interest in Gareth Bale to Prize Him Away From Real Madrid
Gareth Bale reportedly came close to leaving Real Madrid during the summer after being ousted by manager Zinedine Zidane. Now, according to Carlos Carpio of Marca, the Welshman is looking to move on from Madrid in January.
Bale almost made a move to China in the last window, and once more that looks to be the most likely of destinations for the 30-year-old. The report by Spanish outlet Marca suggests that it is Shanghai Shenua who are leading the chase for Bale, after he came close to joining them during the summer.
The Welshman has made just seven appearances for the Spanish giants so far this season, finding the back of the net twice.
Manchester United Turning to Ligue 1 for Transfer Targets
Julien Laurens of ESPN writes that Manchester United are chasing deals for Ligue 1 pair Boubakary Soumare and Moussa Dembele.
Soumare is a product of high-flying Lille’s academy. Since making his debut during the 2017/18 season, the 20-year-old has gone on to make 52 appearances for the French side.
Manchester United will be hoping that Soumare does not agree a new contract with Lille before January. The midfielder’s deal is expiring at the end of the season. As a result, it means that United will be able to agree pre-contract terms should he not secure terms with Lille.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also looking at former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele. The Frenchman made the move to Ligue 1 in 2018, joining Lyon. Last season saw him score 20 goals in all competitions, equalling his best-ever season. A move for the 23-year-old would certainly boost United’s attacking options.
Roma Standing Firm on Transfer Targets
Corriere dello Sport in Italy are reporting that Roma have rejected the chance to sign former Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell.
It had been reported by Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian that Roma were close to signing Rodwell to provide short-term cover for their midfield. Instead, they are now opting to wait until their injured players return.
Meanwhile, James Cooper of Sky Sports is reporting that Chris Smalling will not be moving to Roma permanently and instead will return to Manchester United when his loan expires.
Smalling has impressed so far during his loan in Italy. He has made six appearances so far this season, helping the Italian side to fifth in Serie A.
Manchester City Lining Up Leroy Sane Replacement
Sky Sources in Germany are reporting that Bayern Munich are set to continue their pursuit of Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
As a result, Pep Guardiola is now looking at replacements for the German, with Spanish winger Mikel Oyarzabal being lined-up. The 22-year-old currently plays for Real Sociedad. In each of his last two seasons, he has scored 14 goals, with four goals so far this season.
Sky sources believe that talks have already taken place between Manchester City and Oyarzabal.
