Transfer Rumours: Jadon Sancho, Timo Werner, Victor Osimhen, Ruslan Malinovskyi
Real Madrid Eye Jadon Sancho
Kieran Lynch from The Mail Online writes that Real Madrid pursue Jadon Sancho. The English winger currently resides at Borussia Dortmund. However, he was fined and dropped by the manager after arriving back late from international duty. Madrid are already after the likes of Christian Eriksen and Sancho is yet another attacking talent on their radar.
Sancho has really impressed in the Bundesliga with sixteen goals in 53 appearances thus far. He has been a part of the most recent of Gareth Southgate‘s England squads also. This is a prodigious young star who must be very careful with his next steps. At Dortmund, providing he responds well to his ticking off, he should be able to get back into the first team for first-team minutes. At Real Madrid, there would be a risk of being another player swallowed up by the Galácticos cornucopia of stars.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Wants Timo Werner
Neil Fissler from The Express suggests that Manchester United are after Timo Werner. The 23-year-old striker is unlikely to be secured in January. Instead, the club will have to try to persuade the player away from RB Leipzig in the summer.
Werner has a fantastic record for RB Leipzig thus far. He has scored 56 goals in 101 Bundesliga appearances. And, this is yet another brilliant young talent. Werner became the youngest player to make 100 Bundesliga appearances three years ago, initially starting his career at VfB Stuttgart.
The German is a hardworking player, who can use his speed in blazing past defenders, or equally in closing them down. The Red Devils are struggling with a lack of firepower up top after Romelu Lukaku’s departure. Roy Keane, on Sky Sports Super Sunday nonchalantly declared that United should just snap up Harry Kane to address their misfiring attack. This would take a gargantuan sum, with Spurs very unlikely to part with their heroic striker. Instead, they could turn their efforts to Werner.
Newcastle United Look to Bolster Squad with Victor Osimhen
According to Lee Ryder of Chronicle, Newcastle United are planning a rebuild which focuses around bringing in some fresh young talent. They are rumoured to be targeting Victor Osimhen who currently plays for OSC Lille in Ligue 1.
The Nigerian striker stands at 6ft 1in and has already scored seven goals in nine appearances in the league. Furthermore, Osimhen has been involved in the Nigerian national team from under 17 to under 20 level. Indeed, he has even made six appearances for his country’s senior team. This includes some African Cup of Nations experience.
The Magpies fell to a slender defeat against Chelsea. This was after the magical 1-0 victory over Manchester United and a great strike from Matty Longstaff before the international break. After playing every team in the ‘big six’ in their first nine matches, Steve Bruce is not in panic mode yet. His team have just slipped into the relegation zone, though.
Making a few signings in January could help to bolster the squad’s resources. Victor Osimhen is an unproven signing for the Premier League. However, he seems to have the physicality to cope.
Chelsea to Turn to Ruslan Malinovskyi for Midfield Reinforcements
Also from Neil Fissler of The Express, Chelsea are monitoring Ukranian midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi. The 26-year-old currently plays for Atalanta, who faces Manchester City tomorrow evening.
This is a player who has only just arrived in Italy, after spending much of his career in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk, but only at youth academy level and in their third team. Instead, he was loaned out to Sevastopol, Zorya Luhansk and finally Genk, in Belgium. Genk rated his contribution so much that they signed him permanently. He went on to play 74 league matches there, scoring 18 goals.
The Ukranian is still yet to prove his quality in Italy, though. He has made six appearances, with only two starts thus far. Thus, this a player to be considered further by the club before making any moves.
