Manchester United Momentum Can Continue Against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Manchester United momentum

Manchester United were unable to find a way past Wolverhampton Wanderers in either of their fixtures last season. Drawing once and losing twice, United couldn’t find the answer to beat a new look Wolves team.

Now, with the additions of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United look to avenge last seasons results. However, an away game at Molineux is no easy challenge.

Manchester United Momentum Can Continue

Searching for All Three Points

In their previous Premier League match, Wolves were unable to get anything past Leicester City. A stalemate as an opening fixture certainly wasn’t on the cards for Nuno Espirito Santo and his side. This time out, he will be hoping for more from the side who finished seventh last season.

The final league position meant that Wolves had an opportunity to join United in this season’s Europa League. Having run riot in an 8-0 aggregate win, they now need to defeat Torino to make the group stages. A 4-0 win in their second leg this week means Wolves will be more rejuvenated on Monday.

More of the Same for United

Like Wolves, United also go into the game with a 4-0 win. An impressive second-half performance against Chelsea rounded off a perfect start for United. New signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka had a strong 90 minutes, while Daniel James came off the bench to get United’s fourth goal.

However, throughout the game, Chelsea kept asking questions of United’s defence, hitting the woodwork twice and forcing a save from David De Gea. If it’s a game Nuno watched, he would have seen a clear way of getting past United’s midfield. Nevertheless, despite showing some weaknesses, United still managed to run away with the game.

Team News

Either side isn’t expected to change much. You can expect similar starting lineups for both teams. Any of Wolves’ new signings aren’t exactly starters, whereas United should start Maguire and Wan-Bissaka.
