Crystal Palace have made their fourth signing of the summer, with the arrival of Victor Camarasa on loan from Real Betis. The Spaniard spent last season on loan at Cardiff City.
Victor Camarasa Joins Crystal Palace
Last Season
It is Camarasa’s second loan spell in the Premier League in as many seasons. He spent last year on loan at Cardiff City. Last season he made 32 appearances for the Bluebirds in the Premier League, scoring five times and registering four assists.
What Was Said
Speaking to the Crystal Palace website, the 25-year-old said: “I am very happy to be here, and I am so excited to start with the group.
“I think Palace has great players and it is a great club.”
Steve Parish, Crystal Palace chairman, also said: “I’m delighted that we’ve signed Victor, and we think he will further improve the quality of our squad.”
How Will Victor Camarasa Fit In At Crystal Palace?
Roy Hodgson is already well-stocked for central midfielders at Crystal Palace. As a result, Camarasa will provide useful competition for places in midfield at Palace, as well as hoping to make his move permanent.
However, there are some suggestions that the Spaniard could be used in a wide position. According to David Ornstein of the BBC, Hodgson is looking to operate with Camarasa out wide. This could cause a reshuffle in the way Palace operate this season.
A Busy Deadline Day Ahead For The Eagles?
More signings are still expected at Selhurst Park ahead of the deadline of 5pm on August 8 2019. According to reports, they are looking to sign James McCarthy from Everton.
As well as the Irishman, they are hoping to conclude a deal for Russian striker Fedor Chalov. They have already seen multiple bids rejected for the striker, who they are hoping will compete with Christian Benteke up-front.
