Adrian Signs For Liverpool

West Ham Career

Adrian is best known for his time with West Ham United. The Spaniard has spent the last six seasons with the Hammers, making 150 appearances.

During the 2014/15 season and 2015/16 season the Spaniard had cemented his position as the number one goalkeeper at West Ham. He made 70 appearances across the two seasons, keeping 17 clean sheets.

However, during the following two seasons he was in-and-out of the side, making under 20 appearances in both the 2016/17 and 17/18 season. It was then last season where he lost his place permanently in the West Ham side. Adrian found himself replaced by Lukasz Fabianski and as a result, he failed to make an appearance during the season. Subsequently, he was released at the end of his contract this summer.

What Was Said

Speaking to the official Liverpool website, the 32-year-old said: “I’m very ambitious, I come to try to win everything, to try to push Alisson from the first minute and to make us better.

“Obviously I want to win titles. I come here to fight for all the competitions.

“I’m looking forward to playing my first game at Anfield and to win as many games as we can.”

How Will Adrian Fit In At Liverpool?

The signing of Adrian is a like-for-like replacement for Simon Mignolet, who has left Anfield in the search for first team football with Club Brugge.

Alisson has cemented his position as the first choice and impressed during his debut season in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp. However, there is a need for a second choice goalkeeper, and Adrian proves cost-effective and also provides Premier League experience.
