Singing the Youth
Sade grew up in Israel and played locally before joining Southend United as a schoolboy.
The defender then returned home to continue his football career but now has the chance to impress at Oxford.
“It’s a dream come true,” the 19-year-old told the club’s official website.
“I have wanted to be a footballer since I was five or six so I am determined to make the most of my chance here. The players have been very welcoming this week.
“It has been very hard work but really enjoyable.
“The next step will be to go with the under 23 squad to Scotland for a training camp and then it is up to me to keep working, keep pressing and hopefully get a chance in the first team.”
Building for the Future
The new-look U23 set up also features academy graduates Owen James, Aaron Heap, Aaron McCreadie, Ryan Crooks and Max Harris.
The U’s are blessed with some youthful talents. Both Nico Jones and Slavi Spasov made their first team debuts last season under Karl Robinson.
The U23 side lost three times and won three times in their debut season, as well as drawing one match.
Meanwhile, the U18 side finished 4th, level on points with the two sides above them and only three points behind Southend.
Robinson is building a youthful set up at the Kassam Stadium and it could benefit the first team in the long run. The U’s already have some exciting young talents coming through the ranks, some of which have made senior appearances.
