Antonio Conte – Career So Far
Conte is best known in England for his time as manager of Chelsea, where he was very successful. He won the Premier League during his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge. However, despite winning the FA Cup, his second season was deemed unsuccessful. As a result, he was sacked as manager of Chelsea.
Furthermore, his time in England was not without controversy. There was speculation that he fell out with a number of players, including Diego Costa. Most recently, he has won a legal battle against his former employers as Chelsea refused to pay the last year of his contract.
The Italian’s most successful spell as a manager came in charge of Juventus. He won the Serie A title three years in a row between 2011 and 2014. During his time in Turin he also won the Supercoppa Italiana twice.
What This Means For The Future
Antonio Conte will take over from Luciano Spalletti, who managed his side to fourth place in the 2018/19 Serie A.
Conte will be charged with trying to bring success back to the San Siro for Inter Milan. Inter have failed to win a trophy since their Coppa Italia success in 2011. A club with a rich history in Italian football, the expectation for Conte will be high.
The successes Conte has already achieved during his career will mean Inter Milan fans will be hopeful they can challenge Juventus at the top of Serie A. Juventus have won the last 8 Serie A titles, three of which Antonio Conte was part of.
He may also look to bring his own players to the San Siro. Inter have already been linked with Romelu Lukaku and Victor Moses, according to Sky Sports.
