MK Dons Striker Osman Sow Completes Move to Dundee United

Osman Sow

Osman Sow has become the third MK Dons player in this transfer window to join Scottish Championship side Dundee United. Aidan Nesbitt and Peter Pawlett have both made the move north to link up with former Dons manager Robbie Neilson, and Sow has joined them to start his third stint under the Scottish boss, who also managed him at Hearts.

Osman Sow Completes Dundee United Move

Much like Pawlett, Sow had an injury-filled spell in Buckinghamshire, limiting his goal tally to just three since he signed in 2017. The first two of his strikes came within the first two months of his time at the club, while the third came upon his return from long-term injury earlier this month, scoring the final goal in a 6-0 win over Cambridge United.

Sow looked to have worked his way back into the team with a number of positive cameo appearances. He seemed to be the main man to turn to once Rhys Healey returned to Cardiff City, appearing in three consecutive games against Crewe Alexandra, Grimsby Town and Oldham Athletic – the middle of which he started in a much-changed eleven for the Dons.

However, the Dons have deemed him surplus to requirements having brought in Jake Hesketh and Stephen Walker from Southampton and Middlesbrough respectively, adding more than enough firepower to an already potent Dons attack.

Parting Comments

Prior to the confirmation, amidst all of the deadline day madness, Dons boss Paul Tisdale said of the interest in Sow: “It’s not the first time! It has been a debate or topic of conversation since I arrived, all the way through August and it has arisen again in January.

“Never say never. You weigh all these things up.

“There’s interest, but he’s with us at the moment.”
