Today’s issue of Football Transfer News concentrates on Manchester United, Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Manchester City.
Latest On Asmir Begovic, Lukaku, Murphy and De Ligt
Asmir Begovic Leaving the South Coast?
Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic could be leaving the Cherries. After finding himself dropped by Eddie Howe against West Ham United, the 31-year-old is ready to listen to offers.
Counting as a homegrown player, the Bosnian could be tempted away from the South Coast by other Premier League clubs. Manchester City potentially lead the way, although the Sky Blues insist they don’t need a keeper.
However, injury to first-choice keeper Ederson could spike interest by the defending Premier League champions.
Lukaku to Become a Magpie
No, not Romelu, but his brother Jordan Lukaku. The 24-year-old Belgian defender looks set to make the move to Newcastle United from Lazio. The Magpies have agreed on a loan deal for the younger Lukaku, which brings the defender to St James’s Park for the second half of the season.
Murphy from Newcastle to Midlands
Newcastle United’s 23-year-old winger, Jacob Murphy, is wanted by West Bromwich Albion. Having only started three Premier League games for the Magpies, the Baggies are keen to sign Murphy on loan. The deal would be a replacement for Harvey Barnes, who returned to Leicester City.
The Baggies are pushing for promotion back to the Premier League after relegation last season. Bringing in Murphy to try and secure the rebound can only be good.
City pursuing de Ligt
Manchester City are eyeing up young Ajax centre half Matthijs de Ligt. The 19-year-old Dutch defender became a target when City missed out on Frenkie de Jong.
Nicolas Otamendi would drop down the order, and Barcelona are ready to make a move for the 30-year-old Argentinian. Otamendi moving to Spain will provide more game time for the defender.
