Jürgen Klopp has been the manager of Liverpool FC since October 2015. Replacing Brendan Rogers, the German had left Borussia Dortmund with an outstanding record of 179 wins, 69 draws and 70 losses.
Bringing Klopp over to England helped to rejuvenate the club, with the style of play he popularised known as gegenpressing. The tactic used is when you have lost possession of the ball; instead of falling back to regroup, you try to win back possession.
Jürgen Klopp Brings More Than Just Passion
This style which he brought with him from Germany ignited the fans again. Although Liverpool have not yet won the Premier League title since it came into being, they have firmly established themselves as a top-six club.
With the German at the helm, the Merseysiders have finished runners up in the Champions League, the League Cup and the Europa League. They have not progressed beyond the fourth round of the FA Cup, however.
The passion of the Liverpool fans is recognised worldwide as one of the best, with the atmosphere at Anfield hailed in similar regard. Since the arrival of Klopp, the passion on the field has also changed.
Player Passion
The players want to play in the shirt, the fight for the places is hard. Signing for Liverpool is always a sign of a player wanting to do very well. Getting loaned out for experience and to learn the game for the younger players shows how well the club look after their youngsters.
From the age of six, eager and talented children can join the Merseyside club and show their skills. The best will go onto become first team players with their childhood club. The style of play brought in by the German brings more than passion to the team. It brings a willingness to achieve, to drive the club performances forward. Ultimately, the aim is to win the title of the Premier League and, of course, the Champions League.
Klopp’s contract with the club is until 2022, which gives the German the time to achieve everything that the lifelong fans and supporters want. This is what Klopp brings to Liverpool and it is so much more than just passion.
