Latest On Jordan Pickford, Lascelles, Rojo and Ings

Pickford Next on Chelsea’s List

Chelsea have made Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford their number one target should they lose Thibaut Courtois. Their current number one has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for the whole summer.

It was reported that the Blues were considering moves for Jack Butland and Kasper Schmeichel after losing out on Alisson to Liverpool, but England’s World Cup hero, Pickford, has now emerged as their first choice.

No formal offer has yet been made to Everton by Chelsea, however, they will be keen to hold onto the man that was voted as their Player of the Year for last season, and whom they signed for £30 million just last summer.

Lascelles to be Possible Maguire Replacement?

Leicester City are reportedly lining up a £35 million bid for Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles. The former Nottingham Forest defender is set to replace Harry Maguire should his potential world-record transfer to Manchester United materialise.

Lascelles was voted as Newcastle’s Player of the Year last season and was widely tipped as an outside choice for the England World Cup squad. He would be a direct replacement for Maguire should he complete the move.

Rojo on the Move?

Wolves are continuing their free-spending summer by lining up a bid for Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo, according to The Independent. While Rojo has been one of United’s more successful transfers of recent times, injuries have also plagued him during his time in England, resulting in fewer minutes on the pitch than he would have liked.

United would be willing to sell on the basis that they need the cash to facilitate moves elsewhere in the squad. Jose Mourinho is said to have long-wanted a more efficient set-up at United, and the sale of Rojo and up to five other players would make this a reality.

Ings Eyed by Palace

Liverpool striker Danny Ings is being eyed by Crystal Palace, but the Eagles will have to meet the Reds’ £20 million valuation of the forward.

Southampton, Leicester and Newcastle are also said to be interested in Ings’ signature, and the striker has been left off of Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the USA to do double training sessions after an injury-plagued spell on Merseyside, as well as to negotiate any deals that come his way.

Jurgen Klopp has expressed his desire for Ings to remain with the club but also respects Ings’ wish to play more regular first-team football.
