Wolves have sold Barry Douglas to Leeds United for an undisclosed fee. It’s come as a bit of a surprise considering he topped the Championship assists chart last season with 14. He arrived a year ago for £1 million from Konyaspor and had a breakthrough season, being ever present in the Wolves squad.

Douglas constant in the Wolves squad that went on to win the Championship last season. You can see why Leeds have signed him on a three-year deal. Leeds will be hoping he has the same effect he had on the Wolves squad. He certainly strengthens the Leeds squad coming into the new season.
Leeds fans are hoping for promotion and the signing of a player like Douglas certainly cements their intent for this season. They have already secured the season-long long loan signings of Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman from Chelsea. Leeds fans will be hoping for a couple more players before the Championship season kicks off.

Barry Douglas certainly made an impression with the fans despite only being there for one season. He quickly became a fan favourite with his attacking mind set and a wonderful left foot, assisting 14 times and scoring five goals. Expectations will be high for Douglas arriving at Elland Road following such a successful season. They will be looking at Douglas to be one of their key players coming into the new season.
What Now For Wolves
Wolves fans will be sad to see him leave but with the emergence of youngster Cameron John and the addition of Ruben Vinagre, they’re not short of options in that area. Wolves have replaced Douglas with the former Celta Vigo left back Jonny, who they’ve signed on a season-long loan as well as there still being an offer on the table of a potential £12 million for Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko, despite him wanting to stay at the Etihad.
