Everton have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Richarlison for a reported £40 million fee. The Toffees should be very satisfied with the five-year deal, as they’re once again gunning for a top-seven spot.
Richarlison Signs for Everton
Premier League Debut Season
The former Fluminense player joined Watford at the start of the 2017/18 season and made an instant impact early on under Marco Silva. The Brazilian recorded five goals and five assists in 24 games with the Portuguese manager.
After Silva was sacked, the Brazilian forward became the first option to be subbed off whenever needed. He ended the season with the same five goals and five assists.
Despite his descent, Richarlison’s first impression lasted. Numerous clubs were set on signing him for the new season, Everton being the successful one.
His already-established relationship with the Toffees manager Marco Silva played a huge part in his decision to move to Merseyside.
High Hopes
The expectations for the Brazilian’s development are high. He has already shown a good work ethic and very collective playing style with a lot of individual qualities as well.
Richarlison is often used as a left-winger but can play in every position across the front line. This versatility is what caught Marco Silva’s eye in the first place.
Now at Everton, Silva is expected to build a strong squad and regain a top-seven place, that secures a spot in the UEFA Europa League.
The Portuguese manager has already expressed his appreciation regarding the Brazilian forward.
“We are talking about a fantastic talent, a very, very good player. I’m sure in the future he’ll achieve everything he can.”
Richarlison and Marco Silva have formed a strong and successful partnership at Watford and are expected to surpass that at Everton this season.
