Karanka Back In Management
After just under a year out of work, Aitor Karanka returns to management once again.
The 44-year-old spent three seasons at Middlesbrough. During his tenure at the Riverside, Karanka achieved promotion to the Premier League with the club. However, he was sacked by the club last March following a ten-game winless run.
Now, after some time away, Karanka has returned to the game and the second-tier of English football once more.
Championship Experience To Boot
Aitor Karanka is no stranger to the Championship, as he has experienced the second-tier in its full force.
Despite achieving promotion with Middlesbrough, it took two attempts for Karanka. Suffering a play-off final defeat in the 2014/15 season, Boro were promoted the following season.
To his credit, Karanka created a fluent style at Middlesbrough. Therefore with this in mind, the Spaniard is potentially the ideal candidate to shake things up at the Midlands club.
A Welcome Appointment?
One has to consider Aitor Karanka’s managerial experience in the Championship.
There is no doubt that Forest fans can feel comfortable with the appointment. As previously elaborated, Karanka has all the relevant experience in the second-tier. Furthermore, his track record at that level is also something to back-up Karanka’s ability.
Upon beginning life at the City Ground, Karanka shall have lots of work to do. Even following their FA Cup success against Arsenal, Forest will be looking to kick on in the league.
Currently sitting 14th, it shall be important that Karanka can steer the East Midlands side further away from any potential danger.
