Dele Alli Signs New Six-Year Contract with Spurs

Dele Alli has signed a new six-year contract with Tottenham, keeping him at the club until 2022.

Dele Alli signs new contract

The attacking midfielder broke onto the scene last season and went on to feature regularly in England’s Euro 2016 campaign.

Alli signed from MK Dons in 2015, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract. After becoming an instant hit at White Hart Lane, linking up well with Harry Kane in attack, he signed an improved deal in January. But Tottenham have felt it necessary to tie him down to yet another improved contract as he starts to find form after a relatively slow start to the season.

The 20-year-old scored ten goals last term and was voted PFA Young Player of the Year. Yesterday, in Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Sunderland, he was instrumental in many of Spurs’ attacking moves. He was also credited with the assist to Kane’s winner, nodding down a cross for the striker.

Upon signing his new contract, Alli said: “I’m happy to be at this Club and I can’t thank the manager and all the staff enough for everything they’ve done for me, and the fans, they’ve been right behind me since I signed. Hopefully there are a lot of good times to come.”
