NBA Player Props & Picks | Wednesday, Dec. 28
Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 43.5 Points + Rebounds
The Bucks are in the midst of a three-game slide, putting Antetokounmpo in the “stopper” spot tonight. He’ll be the proverbial starting pitcher tasked with putting his team in the win column after a losing streak.
Antetokounmpo nearly went Over this total with points alone in two of his last four. Another big scoring performance is in the cards. The Bulls didn’t offer much defensive resistance for Giannis the last time they met (36 points, 11 rebounds). They’re not exactly a stingy defensive team overall either.
DeMar DeRozan Over 29.5 Points + Assists
Scoring doesn’t come easily against the Bucks, but DeRozan is doing so at a high clip. He’s averaging 27.2 points over his last 10, including going Over in eight of those contests.
Distribution remains a strong piece of DeRozan’s game. He’s averaging 5.8 assists over the aforementioned 10-game stretch and dished out 19 total over his last two contests. DeRozan finished with 36 points and eight assists in his most recent meeting with Milwaukee. Between his points and assists, he should be able to reach the Over in this spot as well.
No Bull: What does a potential rebuild look like in Chicago?
Anthony Edwards Over 24.5 Points
It’s been all about volume and efficiency of late for Edwards, who is averaging 29.2 points over his last five games. That includes shooting 51.4% on 21.4 shot attempts and a 39.5% clip on 7.6 treys.
He’s attempted over 20 shots in four of the last five. If that volume continues on Wednesday – and there are no obvious reasons it shouldn’t – another 25 points is in order. Edwards is shooting better from the field and three on the road. Additionally, he’s played well this season coming off a day of rest.
Deandre Ayton Over 20.5 Points
The Wizards are fresh off being punished by Joel Embiid’s 48 points. Ayton may not be on Embiid’s level, but he has the opportunity to put up a quality performance of his own.
Ayton has played well in the second leg of back-to-backs this season. He averages his highest point totals in those spots. While Ayton scores with a good degree of efficiency, his volume can sometimes leave something to be desired. Devin Booker will not play tonight though, so in theory, there are plenty of shot attempts up for grabs.
