Tonight’s Best NBA Player Props | Thursday, Feb. 2

Ja Morant Under 27.5 Points

Something is going to give in Cleveland tonight, where the Cavs and their 30th ranked pace host the uptempo Grizzlies (5th). Given the spread, total, and each team’s respective home/road records, we’re banking on the home team to impose its will and establish the tempo.

There’s nothing wrong with the way Morant is producing of late, though he has scored fewer than 28 points in five of his last seven. Additionally, it’s worth considering the degree to which the Grizzlies struggle as a whole without big man Steven Adams.

Tyler Herro Under 20.5 Points

Herro is struggling with his shot, hitting 40.3% of his field goal attempts, 26.9% of his deep shots across his last eight. Thus, it’s no surprise that he scored fewer than 21 points in six of his last eight.

The Knicks are happy to allow opponents to attempt three-pointers, but they’re among the best in the league at limiting efficiency. Additionally, metrics suggest this game will be played at a glacial pace. If Herro goes Over, we’ll tip our cap. But until he breaks out of his shooting slump, we’re happy to bet the Under.

Luka Doncic Over 7.5 Assists

Sure, Doncic is only averaging five assists with one performance of eight dimes across his last six contests. It’s Luka Doncic though, and sometimes it’s okay to keep things simple.

Doncic is averaging 8.3 assists and reached eight helpers in 28 of 46 games on the season. The Mavericks are 4.5-point home favorites against a Pelicans side in the midst of nine straight losses. The continued absence of Christian Wood makes the task a bit more challenging for Doncic, but we like the Over nonetheless.

Kawhi Leonard +4.5 (-110) vs. Giannis Antetokounmpo

Antetokounmpo continues to ride a season-long tear that includes averaging 37.4 points on 61.5% shooting across his last five. Leonard, meanwhile, has been remarkably efficient from all three levels in recent weeks. He’s shooting particularly well over his last six – 59.8% from the field, 48.6% from three, and 91.4% on 5.8 free throw attempts.

As utterly dominant as Antetokounmpo is on a nightly basis, he still resorts to bludgeoning opponents with two-pointers and nickeling-and-diming his way to points at the charity stripe. If the Clippers live up to their defensive reputation – both collectively and individually – and Leonard remains sharp, it should be enough for him to cover the head-to-head spread versus Giannis.
