NFL Player Props Sunday: Watson Struggles Again, 3 More Top Picks

It’s never too early to lock in your NFL player props for the weekend. It’s often a chance to grab value before the heavy betting comes in and shifts the lines.

Here are four picks from legal football betting sites that standout for Sunday’s games.

Deshaun Watson – Under 225.5 Passing Yards

It was no surprise to see Deshaun Watson struggle in his return to action last Sunday. The Browns pivot hadn’t played football in nearly two years, and it showed.

The controversial quarterback threw for 131 yards, had an interception, and was sacked. That was against the Houston Texans – the worst team in the league. Cleveland will face much stiffer competition this week in the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals have the league’s 11th-ranked defense (340.5 YPG) and only allow 193 passing yards per game at home.

Aside from Watson’s rust, the Browns are a run-first team. Last week they threw the ball just 22 times while running it 38.

Jared Goff – Over 269.5 Passing Yards

What’s not to like about Jared Goff? The Lions quarterback was unceremoniously shipped to Detroit in a trade for Matthew Stafford and had to watch as the latter led his former team to a Super Bowl championship.

That would be enough to make anyone wilt, but instead, Goff has responded with arguably the best season of his career. He’s eighth in the league in passing yards, with a tidy 19 to 7 TD/interception ratio.

The former first-overall pick is coming off a 340-yard performance vs. the Jaguars, and you can expect more fireworks against Minnesota.

This has all the makings of a shootout in a game where defense will be optional. The Vikings are dead last against the pass (283.6) and are 22nd in points allowed (23.3).

Justin Jefferson – Over 92.5 Receiving Yards

The Vikings and Lions have the NFL’s 32nd and 31st-ranked defenses, respectively. There will be a lot of space for Jefferson, who doesn’t have a problem getting open anyway.

Jefferson is second in receiving yards (1,277) and has gone over 92.5 yards in seven of his last nine games.

The LSU product had just 45 yards against a tough Jets defense last game. The previous two times he was held to under 50 yards in a game, he responded the following week with 139 and 147.

Christian McCaffrey – Over 5.5 Receptions

Just when it looked like the 49ers were getting healthy, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a season-ending injury. Christian McCaffrey will now be counted on to take some pressure off his new QB Brock Purdy.

CMC has 66 receptions on the year and is considered one of the top pass-catching backs in the league. His numbers should only increase with a rookie passer at the helm. It was already on display last week when he hauled in eight passes on ten targets.

You can expect the Buccaneers to bring the heat against Purdy, forcing the rookie to get the ball out to his check-downs often.
