Luka Doncic Over 30.5 Points
The Knicks play sound defensively and will make Doncic work for his production tonight. We’re still leaning Over thanks to Doncic’s volume and efficiency.
A heavy total of shot attempts from all three levels is a given. He’s averaging 21 field goal attempts over his last seven games. That includes 7.9 from three point land and is boosted by 10.3 attempts from the charity stripe. His respective percentages over that span are .490/.400/.847. The Mavericks enter the matchup as 4.5-point home favorites.
Luka Doncic Over 8.5 Rebounds
Doncic is only averaging 7.7 rebounds over his recent seven-game stretch, but he’s reached the Over in four of them. One key here may be the status of Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson.
Brunson is listed as day-to-day with a bothersome hip. The Knicks’ effective field percentage falls from 53 percent to 50.9 percent when Brunson is off the floor. The difference may seem modest on the surface, but if Brunson is limited to any degree, there could be a few more errant shots available for Doncic to clean up.

Three-point defense is a strength of the Knicks. They limit opponents to the sixth lowest percentage from beyond the arc. However, they do allow opponents to attempt the third most shots from distance.
Funneling opposing offenses into poor looks is working well for the Knicks of late. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will work on Doncic, who has hit at least three three-pointers in 11 of 14. Even if Doncic falls short in the efficiency department, he could attempt enough deep shots to climb Over the number.
