Jayson Tatum Under 29.5 Points
Tatum is in the midst of a scoring binge, averaging 31.4 points across his last 13 games. Our reason for siding Under is simple: blowout spot. The Celtics are laying 14.5 points at home against a young Rockets team.
Should the Celtics get up big early, Tatum won’t need to handle too much of the scoring load. It’s also worth considering the Celtics are playing their fourth game in seven nights. They play again Thursday before a two-day break. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Tatum gets a mini “breather” tonight.
Jayson Tatum Over 1.5 Steals + Blocks
We’re sensitive to those who prefer bets without such short odds, but we’re still looking to the Over for Tatum’s defensive contributions.
Not only is Tatum averaging 1.8 steals alone across his last 13 contests, but he’s recorded a block in five games over that span. The Rockets are dead last in turnovers committed and 29th in turnover rate. Tatum should be able to get his hands on some errant passes or loose dribbles.
Jayson Tatum Over 3.5 Assists
Tatum reaching four assists on Tuesday night comes with short odds as well. On paper, this is a game in which the Celtics are expected to blow out the Rockets. Theoretically, that means players not named “Tatum” should enjoy some extra scoring opportunities.
If the Celtics will be able to afford taking some of the scoring load off of Tatum’s shoulders, perhaps he’ll be the one getting his teammates involved. He’s averaging 3.4 dimes over his last 13, but has gone Over in five of his last six.
