UFC Fight Night Betting Preview and Predictions

OK so it’s UFC and not boxing but we’re going to see some rumbling on Saturday night — the wrong Buffer! The main card has six fights and here we take a look at each of them.

American Tim Means takes on Serbian Uros Medic in welterweight action. Means comes in as a big underdog with the money line at + 250 v – 310 for Medic. However, Means does pack some power as he has 20 knockouts in his 33 wins. He also has 15 losses which is concerning. Medic has much less experience only having 11 previous fights. His record is 9-2 with seven of his wins coming by knockout.

Don’t expect this one to go the distance. Means offers good value at + 250 but don’t be surprised if he gets taken out early.

Jonathan Pierce v David Onama. The American Pierce enters this fight as a slight favorite and a money line of -130 compared to his Ugandan opponent at + 160. Pierce is coming into this fight off a loss while Onama is fresh off a win. Neither fighter has a ton of experience. Onama has an edge in reach and weight.

Both fighters have knockouts in over half of their wins. Placing a wager on Onama to win just might pay off.

Austen Lane v Jhonata Diniz. We have another fight with the American as a significant underdog as Lane is + 300 and his Brazilian opponent is at – 230. Diniz is formidable with six fights, six wins and six knockouts. Lane comes in with a record of 12-4 with 11 of his wins coming by knockout and the other by submission. Don’t place money on this one going the distance.

A money line bet on Diniz or a wager on Diniz to end it early are your best options.

Our only women’s fight on the card features Arians Lipski against Karine Silva as two Brazilians square off. Lipski is a slight underdog at + 130 v -155 for Silva. There’s a reason for that. Lipski has just six knockouts among her 17 wins although she does have four submission victories. Silva has nine knockouts and eight submissions and also has 17 wins.

Expect a competitive fight with the edge going to Silva in a decision.

American Ryan Spann v Bogdan Guskov from Uzbekistan. Spann is a solid favorite at -205 v Guskov who comes in at + 170. Spann has an astounding 12 of his 21 victories by submission. Guskov has 12 of his 15 wins by knockout with only two submission wins.

This one comes down to whether Spann gets Guskov in a chokehold he can’t get out of or whether Guskov catches Spann with a big punch. We’re counting on Spann to make Guskov tap out.

Main Event Odds and Preview

Matheus Nicolau of Brazil v Alex Perez from the United States. Perez is a slight favorite at -145 on the money line while Nicolau is at + 175. Nicolau has only five knockouts among his 19 wins but he does have five wins by submission. Perez has a paltry five knockouts in 24 wins but adds seven submissions to his resume.

This one probably won’t be decided by knockout and both fighters will be on guard against being forced to tap out. We’re picking Perez to win by decision.
