UFC 300 has an action-packed card with 13 fights featuring the main event between light heavyweights Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill. Before we get to the main event let’s talk about the other MMA fights.
Zhang v Yan
The prohibitive favorite is this one is Zhang. Interestingly the even with Zhang having a money line of -550 compared to + 380 for Yan, the best odds for the length of the fight are at + 120 for the fight to go the distance. The lowest odds for the fight to end before going the distance is + 325 for it to end in round one all the way up to + 1000 for a fifth round ending. For this reason we’re taking Zhang at + 200 to win by either decision or technical decision instead of the money line.
Holloway v Gaethje
This one figures to be very competitive with Gaethje the favorite at -150 and Holloway at + 125 on the money lines. This is another fight where the oddsmakers expect the fight to go the distance. The smart play here is Holloway on the money line since the outcome could go either way.
Brundage v Nickal
Brundage is heading into this fight at + 900 while the money line on Nickal is at -2000. Neither of these wagers offers good value as Nickal should win easily but you have to bet $2000 to win $100. The best value is Nickal to win by KO/TKO or DQ at + 125.
Oliveira v Tsarukyan
This fight could surprise as one of the better encounters of the evening even with the Russian Tsarukyan favored at -225 v Oliveira coming in at + 185. Oliveira at +700 to win by decision or technical decision offers excellent value.
Rakic v Prochazka
Another likely highly competitive fight. Both fighters have minus money lines so this one is too close to call. A wager on either fighter to win by decision or technical decision or for it to go the distance I are best bets to place on this one.
Sterling v Cattar
One of five fights on the card between two Americans figures to be a good one. Sterling comes in as the favorite at -165 while underdog Cattar is at + 135. Wagering on a tie or technical tie at + 5000 is very tantalizing as well as Cattar to win by submission at + 3000.
Yusuff v Lopes
The American Yusuff is the underdog at +125 against the Brazilian Lopes who is at -150. We like Yusuff to pull off the upset and like a wager on him to win by KO/TKO or DQ at + 400.
Moicano v Turner
Another clash between a Brazilian and an American featuring Turner as a heavy favorite at -250 compared to + 195 for the Brazilian Moicano. We don’t see an upset happening here. You can be confident talking the money line with Turner.
Andrade v Rodriguez
In the only fight on the card between two Brazilians, Andrade is the slight favorite at -140 and Rodriguez is at + 115. Expect a very competitive and entertaining match between two countrymen looking to make a good showing on American soil. Andrade should get the win and the money line on him offers decent value although a bet on Rodriguez isn’t a huge risk.
Green v Miller
Another one between two American fighters. Green is a solid favorite at -185 while Miller is at +150. Taking either fighter to win by submission offers great potential especially Green at + 1800.
Garbrandt v Figueiredo
The third of four encounters between an American and a Brazilian fighter features the underdog American Garbrandt at + 240 against his counterpart Figueiredo at -300. We predicted the American to win in two of the others, one on the favorite and one on the underdog. Not this one. Look for Figueiredo to win easily. Take the money line bet even at -300 and consider a + 1500 bet on Figueiredo to end it early.
Holm v Harrison
One more battle between two American doesn’t figure to be competitive. Harrison is a heavy favorite at -450 while Holm has a money line of + 333. Harrison to win in the first round at + 2000 offers a huge reward v risk and is worth a wager.
The Main Event Odds and Preview
Pereira v Hill
This main event features the final bout of the evening and another fight between the American Hill and his Brazilian opponent Pereira. The Brazilian is the favorite at -135 compared to + 110 for the American fighter, Hill. We expect a pumped up pro-Hill crowd to help carry him to victory on home turf. Take the money line on Hill.
