The Friday morning news on Doncic was encouraging, as Dallas won’t have any realistic shot of toppling Boston without their signature player. He is averaging 34.4 points per game and has scored 25-plus points in the last nine outings.
Dallas is coming off an 11-point win over Toronto on Wednesday. Kyrie Irving finished with 29 points, and he averaged 27.7 points per game in February. Boston rolled to an 18-point win over Philadelphia on Tuesday, as Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum combined for 60 points.
Boston has the most efficient offense in NBA history, at 1.212 points per possession. The Celtics won the first meeting on January 22, 119-110, led by Tatum, who became the first player in NBA history to post at least 39 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals, two blocks, and zero turnovers in a game.

Dallas has failed to cover the projected spread just once in its last 10 games. Boston has covered the projected spread in its last four games, but those matchups were against Brooklyn, Chicago, and injury-depleted Knicks and Sixers squads.
In the first meeting, Doncic had 33 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists. He and Irving are going to be fired up for this marquee matchup, and it will be a lot of fun to see them trading offensive punches with Tatum and Brown.
