Kiyan Anthony, the son of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony, is one of the hottest names in the class of 2025. Anthony holds 19 scholarship offers, including 15 from high-major conference programs, has recently said that he wants to visit three schools in the near future. According to Joe Tipton of On3, the three schools are Auburn, Ohio State, and Indiana.
Anthony likely won’t make any of the visits until the fall.

Anthony is a 6-5 guard who, like his father, is a bucket-getter. He had a strong EYBL campaign in which he demonstrated his explosiveness with the ball, handling of contact while finishing at the rim and high basketball IQ. He averaged 19.3 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 43% from the field while playing for his father’s AAU team, Team Melo.
Anthony does have work to do in the major areas of his game. Creating shots for himself (seperation is an issue as he is not a great athlete), his handle, and defense are his biggest improvement areas.

“Scoring is the thing with Kiyan Anthony. He is wired to score the ball. And, year over year, his game has continued on an upward trend. Standing 6-4/6-5, he has a good frame with nice length. Good positional size. Offensively, Anthony has good touch with a solid base in his jump shot. He is comfortable off the bounce or the catch. He is starting to show comfort as a go-to type scorer. Anthony plays confidently. He will need to continue developing the handle. This will also help his efficiency and help in learning (and getting to) his spots on the floor. Taking a less is more offensive approach will help his overall threat as a scorer. He has solid defensive anticipation off the ball. Will need to continue adding strength. The range is deep and he has an array of off-balance or step-back type moves to get a clean look.”
The Middle Village (NY) native, who plays for Long Island Lutheran High School, visited Syracuse last year, where his father played one season. The Orange are considered the overwhelming favorites for Anthony’s services.
Anthony is a consensus four-star prospect. He is listed as No. 29 in On3 rankings, No. 57 by 247Sports, No. 45 by ESPN, and No. 38 by Rivals.
He also holds offers from Florida State, Indiana, Manhattan, George Mason, Memphis, Providence, Seton Hall, Massachusetts, Illinois, and Indiana. Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Albany, Michigan, Maryland, Dayton, UCF, West Virginia, and Arizona State are the others who have offered.

“The good news is that I think Syracuse is rightly seen as the leader for the time being. The bad news is Anthony and his family have wide-ranging relationships all over the basketball world, so there’s not a shortage of backup plans should the Orange stumble to a second consecutive mediocre season under Adrian Autry.
“I think Anthony wants to go to Syracuse if all things appear equal. It’s up to Autry to make things appear equal in the months ahead. Florida State seems like the biggest threat but “programs such as Memphis, Indiana and Providence shouldn’t be ruled out all together.”

Indiana Hoosiers
According to Tyler Conway of Bleacher Report, Indiana is a program to watch due to the Anthony family’s connection to head coach Mike Woodson. Woodson coached Carmelo with the New York Knicks, and Kiyan called him a “godfather” figure.
Woodson is 63-40 in three seasons at Indiana, though 2024-24 was the Hoosiers’ worst season under him, as they went 19-14.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Ohio State is in flux, with Jake Diebler taking over the program full-time. The Buckeyes went 8-3 after Diebler took over last season and reached the quarterfinals of the NIT. Overall, the Buckeyes have missed the last two NCAA Tournaments.
Auburn Tigers
Auburn has been one of the best programs the last seven years. The Tigers have won at least 21 games in six seasons, reached the NCAA Tournament five times, and finished the season ranked in the top 20 of the nation on five occasions. The Tigers reached the Final Four in 2019.
