Long-time NBA analyst Chris Brossard believes Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray will be a Hall of Famer if the team wins another championship this season.

In Denver’s first-round series victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, Murray hit two game-winning shots. After Game 5, head coach Mike Malone talked about Murray’s performance despite battling a calf injury.
“As he just told me, ‘I don’t think we win if I don’t play tonight.’ I said, ‘Well, that’s the understatement of the year!’ The kid is a warrior man, I can’t say enough good things about Jamal Murray. The bigger the moment, the kid just continues to shine. I’m proud of him, one tough cookie.”
Furthermore, in the series, Murray averaged 23.6 points, 7.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game. Additionally, Murray was essential to Denver’s championship run last season.
Recently, Murray claimed he and teammate Nikola Jokic are “undoubtedly” the best duo in the NBA.
“If you want me to rank where I believe, I think we’re the best duo. I think they’re in a bigger market, and people have more interest in LeBron [James] and AD (Anthony Davis) in LA, or what Dame (Damian Lillard) and Giannis [Antetokounmpo] could be, or what Luka [Doncic] and Kyrie [Irving] could do,” Murray said.

Does Murray Have a Hall of Fame Case?
Murray entered the league during the 2016 NBA Draft after the Nuggets drafted him in the first. Despite a slow start to his career, Murray has blossomed into one of the league’s best guards. Murray has averaged at least 20 points per game in each of the last three seasons he played. Furthermore, he has constantly been one of the NBA’s most efficient perimeter shooters and is nearly unstoppable when he is hot. Additionally, he is a good playmaker and a decent defender. And at just 27 years old, the Kentucky alum will likely be around for a long time. However, despite his impressive career so far, Murray has yet to make it to an All-Star team. Furthermore, besides being a one-time NBA champion, Murray only has an All-Rookie Team selection on his resume. This season, Murray spoke about his snub from the All-Star Game.
“There’s multiple players in the league that should be All-Stars,” Murray said. “I think Fox wasn’t an All-Star… Trae wasn’t an All-Star. What do you want me to do now? I think you guys have seen me play at a pretty high level against those same guys that are All-Stars. I just go out there and try not to take it to heart. It is what it is.”

Murray is a talented guard and is building a reputation as a playoff hero. However, even if he helps the Nuggets bring another championship to Denver this season, Murray is unlikely to be in consideration for the Hall of Fame just yet.
