Donte DiVincenzo Brings More Talent to the Golden State Warriors

NBA teams set their benchmark and focus their fortifications on the best team last season. Golden State did not stand idle and be content with what it had. One of the players the Dubs decided to bring in is DiVincenzo. He will be filling in the void by the departures of Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr.

Donte DiVincenzo is a 6 feet 4 inches product of the University of the Villanova Wildcats. He is a two-time NCAA Champion of the 2016 and 2018 seasons. In addition, he was the final four most outstanding player in his senior year. DiVincenzo brings more talent to the Golden State Warriors which will help them win more games.

DiVincenzo’s NBA Path Towards the Golden State Warriors

The Milwaukee Bucks drafted DiVincenzo in 2018 with the 17th overall pick. Consequently, he played a total of 176 matches for 4 seasons with the team. Milwaukee was champion in the 2021 season which he is a part of. Unfortunately, DiVincenzo suffered a left foot tendon injury against Miami in Game 3, which sat him down from the rest of the playoffs that year.

In the 2021-2022 season, the Bucks traded DiVincenzo to the Sacramento Kings. Subsequently, he delivered 10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.6 dimes in the 25 games he played for the Kings.

On July 8, 2022, DiVincenzo officially signed a two-year, $9.3 million deal with the Warriors, the team announced Friday. DiVincenzo says that the Warriors are a perfect fit for him. The Dubs anticipate that he’ll be healthy and will contribute from the bench. The point guard believes, that with his proven ability to play alongside stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, he will be effective with the Warriors’ read-and-react offense.

How will Donte DiVincenzo Help the Dubs?

Draymond Green was sad to see Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. go but welcomed the addition of DiVincenzo. Green further reiterated that he is the new wingman that can effectively defend. With the 25-year-old championship experience, he could help the Warriors to another ring this season.

DiVincenzo is a good shooter and he is going to get more of it with his new team. Stephen Curry agrees with DeVincenzo’s entry to the team. Curry believes that the former Buck can play.

Green is one of the Warriors’ staunch critics. If this pillar approves of Donte DiVincenzo’s entry into the team, then the future is all set for the Villanova point guard.
