Spencer Dinwiddie Suffered an ACL Injury
This injury will sideline Dinwiddie for the rest of this season. It is a huge loss for Brooklyn as he is one of their main offensive weapons. Caris LeVert will likely replace Dinwiddie in the starting lineup as a result and have an increased role with the Nets.
Dinwiddie got off to a slow start this season and hasn’t shot the ball well. During the three games he played in, he averaged 6.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across 21.3 minutes per game. This year’s stats for Dinwiddie are a steep decline from last year after he averaged 20.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. However, some of that is the fact that he is sharing the floor with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving this season with both of them healthy.
The good news for Dinwiddie is that he is expected to make a full recovery before next season. He has a $12.3M player option this offseason and could become a free agent.

What’s Next for the Brooklyn Nets
The Nets will now go through the rest of this season without Dinwiddie. This will mean Durant, Irving, and LeVert will have to do more offensively to fill his void. Despite this setback, Brooklyn still has a lot of depth on their team. However, the Nets can’t afford to have any more injuries of this sort if they are to contend for a championship this year.
The Nets will have four games on their schedule this week, all of which are at home. They will play the Memphis Grizzlies, the Atlanta Hawks twice, and the Washington Wizards.
