Big College Decisions Coming for 4-Star, 5-Star HS Prospects

Big decisions are coming soon for multiple four-star and five-star high school prospects in the 2026 class. The commitment cycle had been relatively slow over the spring and summer, due to a variety of factors, including the focus on transfer portal recruiting and revenue-sharing. However, over the past 7-10 days, things have started to pick up, with more college decisions expected to arrive over the next couple of weeks.

Big College Decisions Coming for Top High School Prospects

4-Star Prospects

Ralph Scott

Rapidly rising 2026 four-star prospect Ralph Scott will make his commitment announcement on Tuesday afternoon, according to 247Sports/CBS Sports. The 6-foot-7 wing is down to a top-four of Houston, Purdue, Tennessee and Texas A&M. He’s officially visited all four schools.

Scott, who has vaulted into the top-35 nationally, is a standout at the IMG Academy in Bradenton (Fla.). It’s unclear if there is a frontrunner for Scott, although some chatter suggests perhaps the Volunteers could ultimately be the choice for Scott.

Trent Perry

A day later, on Wednesday, 2026 four-star prospect Trent Perry will make his college decision known. The 6-foot-4 small forward is down to Maryland, Kansas and TCU. He has visited each school. Perry is a senior at the Link Academy in Branson (Mo.). There are no analyst predictions for him at this time. ESPN is the most bullish on Perry, placing him at No. 77 nationally in the 2026 class.

Davion Adkins

Kansas has buzz for four-star big man Davion Adkins, a top-25 national prospect who officially visited the Jayhawks this past weekend. The 6-foot-9 power forward/center, out of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale (Fla.), is expected to make a commitment announcement in the next few weeks.

Trey Beamer

IMG Academy’s 2026 four-star guard Trey Beamer plans to make his college decision this Friday, according to 247Sports national basketball director Eric Bossi. The 6-foot-2 senior is a top-100 national prospect, according to the majority of recruiting services. There are two predictions in Boston College’s direction for Beamer (h/t 247Sports).

Decision Likely Coming for 5-Star Prospects

Tajh Ariza

Tajh Ariza, a 2026 five-star wing, recently revealed that his two finalists are Big Ten Conference schools Oregon and Southern California. Analysts anticipate that the 6-foot-9 small forward should be making his college decision soon. Ariza is a standout at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower (Calif.), near Los Angeles.

Most recruiting services, within the 2026 class, have Ariza in the top 20 nationally. At the time of this writing, the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine has USC slightly ahead of the Ducks in Ariza’s recruitment.

Anthony Thompson

Five-star small forward Anthony Thompson, per analysts, seems to have wrapped up his official visits and could decide soon. The 6-foot-8 Thompson, out of the Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, is a top-five national prospect. His top six includes Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State, Indiana, Texas and Michigan. Keep an eye here on Indiana, Ohio State and perhaps Kentucky.

Missouri

At this juncture, 60 of the top-150 prospects in 247Sports’ 2026 national rankings have verbally pledged to a school Missouri currently has the top-ranked 2026 cycle, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
