De’Aaron Fox made history on Saturday night. In the Kings vs Jazz game, Fox scored a whopping 49 points, helping the hobbled Kings to victory and putting his name on a scoring list with two of the game’s most legendary scorers. Along with his career-high 60-point night in the Kings vs Timberwolves game on Friday night, Fox has now scored 109 points over his last two games. These De’Aaron Fox stats put him in a club with Kobe Bryant and Wilt Chamberlain as the only three players to ever score 109 points or more in consecutive games.

The Kings and Timberwolves faced off on Friday night in an NBA Cup nail-biter. The Kings were without DeMar DeRozan and Malik Monk in the game, but luckily for them, Fox was there to keep them competitive. Fox was ridiculous, scoring his career-high 60 points in the game on 22-of-35 shooting and 6-of-10 from three. He also had seven assists, three steals, and a block in the game.

Unfortunately, even Fox’s 60 points weren’t enough for the Kings. The Timberwolves forced the game into overtime and ended up winning the game 130-126. Minnesota’s star, Anthony Edwards, scored five straight in overtime, which helped the Wolves put the game out of reach.
Fox Goes Off Again in Kings vs Jazz
About 24 hours later, Fox went nuclear again. In the Kings vs Jazz game, Fox again was without DeRozan, Monk, and Domantas Sabonis. So, he needed to take on the scoring responsibilities again to deliver his team a better outcome than Friday. Fox scored 49 points in the game on 16-of-30 from the field. He also added nine assists and two steals to his already impressive stat sheet. The Kings won the game 121-117.

Fox Joins Elite Company
Two nights like that back-to-back is somewhat unheard of in the NBA. Scoring over 100 points in consecutive days is ridiculous, and Fox scored 109. The only two other players to do this are Kobe (he scored 110 total over back-to-back games in 2007) and Wilt, who, of course, did it 15 different times.
Being on a list with Kobe and Wilt speaks for itself. They are two of the most dominant scorers in NBA history, Hall-of-Famers and NBA champions. Fox is still young and building his resume, but this accomplishment is certainly impressive. What is even more impressive is Fox accomplished this while shooting efficiently from the field and without being a ball hog. Fox notched a combined 16 assists over those two games and shot 58.4% from the field.

Fox is off to an impressive start this season, and if he continues this type of play, his second All-Star nod should be coming his way. Right now, he is averaging career highs in points (28.9) and rebounds (5). This is especially impressive as the Kings added scoring maestro DeRozan to the team over the offseason. Maybe Fox isn’t going to have as legendary of a career as Kobe or Wilt, but being on a list with them is a special accomplishment for any NBA player. But who knows, Fox is still young.
