Virginia Tech Izaiah Paza Plans To Enter Transfer Portal
Virginia Tech sophomore Izaiah Paza will enter the transfer portal, Tipton said. Paza, who only saw nine minutes a game in 18 appearances for the Hokies, was at Delaware in 2024-25. The 6-4 guard was named the CAA Rookie of the Year in his lone season with the Blue Hens, averaging 11.3 points on 51.7% shooting, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists.
Pasha is a slashing combo guard with playmaking ability who excels at getting downhill. While he has the frame to defend all three backcourt positions, questions remain about his technique and consistency on that end. Also, his athleticism is a question mark.
Paza could garner some interest from high-majors as he drew interest from Gonzaga and Texas Tech, among others, last year.
“Plenty of other schools were interested around this time last season when Pasha entered the portal,” Griffin McVeigh of On3 said. “Of course, Virginia Tech ended up as the winner. However, Gonzaga and Texas Tech were among the other finalists. If Mark Few and Grant McCasland want to make another run at Pasha, the opportunity window should open quite soon. Finding a way to get the Delaware production would be the goal, though, compared to what we saw from Pasha at Virginia Tech.”
All-West Coast Conference Selection To Leave St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s star forward Paulius Murauskas will enter the transfer portal, Draft Express’ Jonathan Giovany reported in the late afternoon. Murauskas, a 2025-26 All-West Coast Conference selection, decided to leave after Arizona State hired Gaels’ head coach Randy Bennett. Could the 6-8 big fellow Bennett to ASU?
“After Randy Bennett’s departure to Arizona State, Saint Mary’s Paulius Murauskas will enter the transfer portal, he told DraftExpress,” Giovany said. “The First Team All-WCC PF averaged 18.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Instantly becomes the No. 1 player in the portal.”
