6. Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons (17-15,11-9)
Purdue Fort Wayne has guaranteed themselves its fifth straight winning campaign. However, the Masterdon are just 3-6 in their last nine.
IPFW is not a great shooting team, though the Mastodons love launching 3-pointers, averaging 9.6 threes (second in the conference) and ranking fifth in 3-point percentage (36.7%). The Masterdons only turn the ball over 9.2 times a game in conference play, tops in the league, and force 11.6 turnovers, third most. Junior guard Corey Hadnot II is the Horizon’s leading scorer at 20.9 points and one of the league’s top two-way players.
3.5 points per contest outscored IPFW during Horizon League play. The Masterdons don’t foul a lot, but they struggle to defend the 3-point line and on the glass, getting outrebounded by nine.
Strengths: Guard play, spacing, and turnover creation.
Weaknesses: Interior defense and rebounding.
