Draymond Green had some controversial comments during All-Star Weekend.

Draymond Green Makes Ridiculous Claims At All-Star Weekend

Draymond Green never shies away from giving a good quote. Although he wasn’t selected for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, there was never a question that he would be a big part of the weekend. All-Star weekend in the Bay Area was always going to have a healthy portion of Draymond. Notably, Green participated in the Skills Challenge and was also a panelist for TNT’s game coverage. It wouldn’t be Green if he didn’t come with some controversial comments. Let’s look at Draymond’s All-Star Weekend comments and see how ridiculous they are.

Draymond Green Makes Ridiculous Claims At All-Star Weekend

Draymond Green All-Star Weekend Comments Make Waves

Among many other things Green has and probably still will say this weekend, there are two that stick out as extra wild. The first was when Green claimed the Warriors would win the championship this year. Green said, “We are going to win the Championship.” This is certainly a bold claim and one that he has made successfully before.

Later in the broadcast, Green revealed something else that just seems a bit too bold to be true. Green stated, “I’ve already been offered the Golden State Warriors head coaching job when I’m done.” After all that drama Green has put the Warriors organization through, this seems a bit far-fetched.

Draymond Says Another Warriors Championship is Coming

Once again, Green has written a check that Stephen Curry is going to have to try and cash. When speaking about the new-look Warriors (post-Jimmy Butler trade), Green strongly stated that he is predicting another Warriors championship this season. For a team that is barely above .500 and is fighting for a playoff spot, this is incredibly unlikely.

The Warriors definitely seem a bit more dangerous with Butler on the roster, but they are far from championship favorites. Right now, the Warriors have the seventh-shortest odds of winning it all. Even if the Warriors do make a late-season run and make the playoffs, beating teams like Denver or Oklahoma City to get out of the West will be a tall task for the Dubs.

Curry and Green are on the decline, and although those two and Butler have incredible playoff pedigree, it is hard to see them winning four playoff rounds. The team simply doesn’t have the talent or depth to contend with the young rising teams like the Celtics, Thunder, or Cavaliers. Sorry, Draymond, but this prediction may be a bit far-fetched.

Could Draymond Green Coach the Warriors?

Who would promise Green a coaching role? There is no question that he has an incredible basketball mind and has the potential to be a great leader, but being promised the Warriors coaching job seems like a step too far. Green has proven time and time again that he is unable to control his emotions on (and off) the court. That is not the best attribute for the leader of a team.

On top of that, the Warriors have an elite head coach. Green is probably only a couple of years away from retirement, so would the Warriors really give him Steve Kerr’s job? There is no guarantee that Kerr will still be coaching the Warriors by the time Green retires, but promising him the job that a Hall-of-Fame coach already holds seems very unlikely. So don’t look too much into Green’s comments.
