Free agent Harry Giles, looking to make an NBA comeback, will continue his workout circuit tour next week, his agent Daniel Hazan told Ian Begley of SNY.tv.

NBA Rumors: Harry Giles Has Upcoming Tryout With Warriors, 7 Other Teams Also Interested

The Golden State Warriors are the latest team to see the 25-year-old big man, who last appeared in an NBA game during the 2020-21 campaign. It is unknown where the workout with the Warriors will take place. He held a workout for the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday in Miami.

Giles is currently playing in the Miami ProAm, where he scored 42 points and grabbed 15 boards on Tuesday night.

In the above highlight, Giles looked really agile and explosive while playing without a knee brace. The 6-foot-11 forward also showed great touch around the rim and a refined shooting stroke.

Giles, who last played with the G-League’s Agua Caliente Clippers in January 2022, has appeared in 142 career NBA games with the Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers. He holds career averages of 5.9 points and 3.8 boards while shooting 51.1% from the field.

Desire To Play Again

Giles’ scheduled workout with the Warriors will be at least his fourth of the summer. Prior to Saturday’s session with the Nets, he worked out with the Orlando Magic. Meanwhile, about a dozen teams attended Giles’ private workout in Las Vegas during Summer League action, with the Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and Minnesota Timberwolves being named.

Even if Giles is impressive enough to earn another NBA shot, it’s unlikely he will get a guaranteed deal. However, Giles is eligible for a two-way contract. He successfully appealed NBA rules regarding those deals after missing time due to knee injuries that date back to his high school career.

In an interview with FOX40’s Sean Cunningham, Giles opened up about the difficulties of blocking out the past and focusing on the future.

“You have the thoughts in the back of your head. For me, it was more of my injury and I hate injuries from the past. And obviously, I had a couple of issues in the league as well, but nothing’s as major as it was in the past.”  “I’m 25 years old and I’m getting judged, it’s just tough for me. I fight a battle every day sometimes. It’s tough that the injury is the only thing that changed my career and is holding me back, that’s got people questioning me. Especially at 25, any age. But at the same time, I want to play the game again.

“I know I love the game. I can’t think about nothing but the game. I’d be lying to you if I said it didn’t kind of drain me for a second. I think that [Los Angeles] Clippers thing, I had to just take some time to myself just to get myself together, get my mind straight, refresh my mind. Life hit me a little bit, too. So it was a lot going on to where I had to just take a sit back for a second and just figure out what I wanted to do and what I wanted to be and who am I.

“So I think this last year, I’ve been getting the spark back, I’ve been getting the fire back up under me. I’m confident. I’m healthy and I feel good again. But I just want them to leave here knowing, ‘He looks good, he’s ready, he’s excited, he’s confident and he’s ready for another chance.'”
