Following Debut Baltimore Orioles Pitcher Gets DFA’d

Tucker Gets Pumped And Dumped

Tucker’s DFA is a surprise as he pitched well in his debut with the Orioles and is a pitcher with postseason experience. He won the World Series in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves. He was the starting pitcher on October 31st for Game 5 against the Houston Astros. Davidson’s outing wasn’t strong as he surrendered four runs, two of which were earned. He received a no-decision with the Astros beating the Braves 9-5. But the Braves beat the Astros 7-0 in Game 6 to claim the World Series title. Davidson has also played for the Kansas City Royals and the Los Angeles Angels. Tuckerson also has experience both in the bullpen and as a starter.

The Orioles could have utilized his flexibility in the postseason by putting him in the bullpen. This would have certainly sustained momentum as the Orioles bullpen numbers in the second half of the season ranked low (third worst) with a 4.97 ERA. Davidson is also known for his ability to pitch deep into games. In his debut with the Orioles, he also racked up a lot of ground balls. Davidson did his job and pitched bulk innings, helping the Orioles achieve a 9-2 victory over the Twins. With his experience and strong attributes, he will likely get picked up by another team. His long-reliever talent is appealing, and several teams need assistance from the bullpen. His time spent in the minors this season has also showcased promising results. Davidson recorded a 3.89 ERA across 17 starts in Norfolk.
