Fantasy Pitching Streamers For Week 23
Monday, September 2nd
Osvaldo Bido, RHP, Oakland Athletics 44%- If you haven’t noticed, Osvaldo Bido has been lights out over the last month. The 6’3 right-hander will face a Seattle Mariners team that is tops in MLB in strikeouts against right-handed pitching. Bido has scored 18+ points in every start in August, maxing out at 35 points against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mariners are last in MLB over the previous month in batting average and next to last in slugging percentage as a team. Look for Bido to get 20+ points against a team that strikes out and doesn’t hit for average or power.

Tuesday, September 3rd
Aaron Civale, RHP, Milwaukee Brewers 37%- Civale has hit his stride since joining the Milwaukee Brewers mid-season. Civale has held teams scoreless in two of his last three starts. The RHP has scored at least 25 fantasy points in four of his last five starts as well. St. Louis doesn’t strike out much, but they also don’t score runs. Expect Civale to scatter hits and get a quality start while putting up 19+ points.
Wednesday, September 4th
JP Sears, LHP, Oakland Athletics, 40%- JP Sears and the A’s take on the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. There isn’t much difference between the reasoning behind using Bido on Monday. Sears is a lefty, which the Mariners hit a little better, but are still third in MLB in the most strikeouts. Sears has won four of his last six starts and is averaging 15+ points per start this season. Expect him to do more than that on Wednesday.
Thursday, September 5th
Zebby Matthews, RHP, Minnesota Twins 27%- Zebby faces the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. Since trading away Randy Arozarena and any other offensive talent they had, the Rays have been abysmal in the batter’s box. The Rays rank in the bottom five in almost all categories. The Rays are tied for the MLB lead in most team strikeouts over the last month. Matthews did show his strikeout upside against the St. Louis Cardinals, punching out seven Cards in five innings.
Friday, September 6th
Frankie Montas, RHP, Milwaukee Brewers 25%- Montas had a rough outing against his former team this week but still mustered four fantasy points. Montas historically pitches well in September and will have a favorable matchup against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies have the most team strikeouts in the National League this season. This will also be a home game for the Brewers. The Rockies have a terrible offense with the assistance of Coors Field; they are even worse on the road, slashing .220/.279/.364 as a team.

Saturday, September 7th
Tobias Myers, RHP, Milwaukee Brewers 56%- Going back to the well on this one and attacking the floundering Rockies. If you are lucky enough to have Myers available in your league, look for him to get 25+ points easily in this one.
Sunday, September 8th
Brayan Bello, RHP Red Sox 52%- Bello has been on a rollercoaster this season. When you think he’s put it all together, he puts up -7 points against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Then he turns around and puts up 50 against the Toronto Blue Jays. You have to like his chances against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, though. Over the last 30 days, the Chi-Sox have only scored 77 runs with only 15 home runs. The White Sox also have the lowest OPS as a team over the last 30 days at .617. This is nothing new this season. Attack the White Sox as often as possible.
