So many major leaguers have had to deal with injuries this season, and some have season-ending injuries. However, the New York Mets got some good news on Monday, as Brandon Nimmo was cleared from a potential stint on the injured list.

Brandon Nimmo Cleared from Injury Scare, is Day-to-Day
Nimmo began dealing with some shoulder soreness in Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins. As a result, he was taken out of the game. Nimmo was then scheduled to have an MRI on his shoulder the next day. Thankfully, Nimmo’s MRI came back negative, meaning any season-ending or long-term injuries have been avoided.
Nimmo is now day-to-day and will likely return sometime in New York’s series against the Baltimore Orioles, or if not, at the beginning of New York’s road trip. As a result, the Mets will most likely use bench players more, such as Tyrone Taylor. Nimmo, who has hit two home runs in his last three games, is an important piece of the Mets offense and will likely have another 20+ homer season.
Mets No Longer Need Minor League Help
As a result of this news, the Mets will need no outfield help for now. This means the recently acquired Eddie Rosario, or even Jackie Bradley Jr. will likely not be called up. However, there will remain speculation about Brett Baty. Baty has done very well lately, and he might come up again with New York in 2024.
Overall, the Mets dodged a bullet that earlier hit the Atlanta Braves. The long-term injury to Austin Riley is a major blow for them. Brandon Nimmo is a huge part of the Mets offense, which has largely been asleep of late. His two home runs in the Marlins series are good signs for Nimmo, who has done badly since the All-Star break. Such a breakout series may be a sign of good things to come for the Mets as the regular season winds down.
