Steady Eddie?

Rojas has missed 13 games due to forearm tightness. The seasoned veteran has played gold-glove-caliber defense since he took the lion’s share of playing time after Mookie Betts sustained a fractured hand. To the surprise of the Dodgers, Rojas has been a force offensively. He has a batting average of .271 and has clutch hits for them this season. Before being activated, the shortstop played one rehab game at Rancho Cucamonga, going 0-3 with a walk.

Rojas made his Major League debut with the Dodgers in 2014 before joining the Miami Marlins the following year.

The Return Of The Long Man?

Grove has been on the injured list since June 16 with an intercostal strain. His last rehab appearance was on Saturday in Triple-A affiliate Oklahoma City. He pitched a scoreless 0.1 inning. He has made six total appearances at Oklahoma City, giving up two earned runs with seven strikeouts.

The Dodgers usually depend on the right-hander to go multiple innings out of the bullpen. Grove had a rocky start to the season but had settled into his role before getting injured.

Roster Moves

To make room on the 40-man roster, The Dodgers optioned outfielder James Outman to Oklahoma City. Outman has displayed some power but has also struggled with strikeouts this season.

Los Angeles also placed relief pitcher Brusdar Graterol on the injured list. Graterol, who made his season debut last night, was removed from the game after just eight pitches. He hurt his hamstring and had to be helped off the field. The Dodgers have categorized the injury as a grade 1 strain.

Graterol had already missed time this year due to shoulder inflammation. An injury he had been battling since Spring Training.
