Three Trade Packages For This White Sox Star

The Chicago White Sox are supposedly willing to trade almost any player on the roster. They want to try to build a team through young stars. They have some talent on the team that would be attractive as trade bait to other teams. Some names that come to mind include Tommy Pham, Garrett Crochet, and, perhaps, their biggest star, Luis Robert, Jr.

Three Trade Packages For This White Sox Star

There have been many rumors and statements about the possibility of trading away Robert Jr. Everything from they want the sun and the moon for him down to they will take what they can get has been said about Robert Jr. and his potential departure from the Sox.

There are teams out there that could certainly use Robert Jr’s services. Who are they, and what might they be willing to give up to get the all-star center fielder?

Atlanta Braves

The loss of Ronald Acuna, Jr., stings this ballclub. You can tell that they miss him, and it wouldn’t be bad if the Braves tried to get Robert Jr. What would it take for Atlanta to grab him and bring him on board? A lot, according to some media reports. The White Sox appear to want quite a haul for Robert, so with that, they will probably scare off a lot of teams, including the Braves.

Young talent is what the White Sox are after. The Braves have a nice farm system and have some players that might appeal to the White Sox. Pitching is probably what the White Sox need the most. The Braves could reach into their minor league system and pull out a handful of pitchers, let’s say four, to trade for Robert Jr. Position players could play a factor in this as well, so the Sox might be able to squeeze out a position player or two from the Braves.

Philadelphia Phillies

Imagine a Philadelphia Phillies team with a guy like Robert Jr. on it. Having him on the team, healthy and hitting well, could propel them to the World Series. That would be good for the Phillies and quite beneficial to the White Sox. If they can talk the Phillies into giving up several prospects and major league folks to help give them what they want, a trade with them could pay off.

What should the Phillies give up in return for Robert Jr.? Quite possibly, one or two of their top prospects would do. They have two guys at the top that might appeal to the Sox. Right-handed pitchers Mick Abel and Andrew Painter would be nice additions to the White Sox farm system should they get them from the Phillies. In return, the Phillies would get a solid outfielder that could help them get that final push to the playoffs going with more momentum. Robert Jr. could work wonders in Philadelphia as long as he stays healthy.

Baltimore Orioles

If you want to get some quality players for your farm system, the Orioles could be the place to get them. The Orioles are known to have some of the best minor-league talent, the perhaps best, in all of baseball. But the White Sox will not be able to extract some of their top talent, say a guy like Jackson Holiday. They are probably going to get someone a little lower on the scale than that.

So, who could the Sox get? Who would the Baltimore Orioles be willing to give up for someone of Robert’s caliber? In looking at the top prospects for the Orioles, the White Sox could always use an outfielder in return. That’s’ where a guy like Heston Kjerstand might come into play. Pitching is always a plus. The White Sox might try to have the Orioles throw in a guy like Cade Povich, a left-handed pitcher.

The White Sox might be asking for the sun and the moon when it comes to him. They deserve to get as much as they can; in the end, it would be tough to see Robert Jr go. However, it might be for the best in the long run.
