One of the Toronto Blue Jays’ most predominant strengths at the moment is their prospects. One highly talked about Blue Jays prospect is Ricky Tiedemann. Subsequently, Tiedemann has continued to impress with his pitching, drawing in crowds and observers. It would be exciting to see Tiedemann get a call-up in the 2024 season. Tiedemann joins many Blue Jays prospects who have showcased their strong talents as young up-and-coming players.
Good morning from Dunedin. Blue Jays pitching prospect Ricky Tiedemann hit 96 mph — comfortably — in a live BP. Very impressive session that drew a couple dozen observers at 9 am.

Two springs ago, a #BlueJays coach asked me: “Have you seen Ricky Tiedemann? Dude’s built like a Greek god.”

Keegan Matheson made this remark on Twitter about when he saw Ricky Tiedemann in camp this week. Tiedemann has put on about 19 pounds of muscle. It is important to note that last season, he weighed in at 225 pounds. Evidently, he’s now 240 pounds. Furthermore, as a number one prospect, he is continuing to sustain momentum. Two springs ago, a Blue Jays coach asked Keegan Matheson if he had seen Tiedemann and compared his body to a Greek God. He has taken advantage of his off-season time and used it wisely. He has pounced back into camp ready to pitch. Tiedemann has an ambiance about him that signals pro ball. He is in shape, probably in the best shape of his life.
Tiedemann Continues to Gain Traction
While Alek Manoah is the number one pitcher to watch in camp this year for apparent reasons, Ricky Tiedemann is number two. Tiedemann pitching in the big leagues should be one of the major and more compelling storylines in the lead-up to the Toronto Blue Jays’ 2024 season. Hopefully, Ricky Tiedemann can remain healthy throughout this Blue Jays camp. The fact he has reached a 96 mph pitch by February 17 is mind-boggling. Tiedemann has been ranked as the number 28 prospect out of MLB’s Top 100. He has stated that he hasn’t been informed of a concrete innings limit for his 2024 season. The Blue Jays are expected to track his volume of pitching work. In the 2023 season, Tiedemann threw 62 innings that included the AFL (Arizona Fall League).
Blue Jays Prospect In Effect!
The day that Tiedemann takes the mound in MLB, fans will be shaking with excitement. The hype with Tiedemann continues on social media, and 2024 will be an exciting season for Blue Jays prospects. Toronto’s strong pitching in both their starting rotation and bullpen is evident. With the signing of Yariel Rodriguez, it will be interesting to see which Jays pitcher(s) will enjoy the most success in the 2024 season. Will Kevin Gausman be a Cy Young finalist again? Can Manoah pick up where he left off in 2022? Congratulations to Ricky Tiedemann on continuing to impress MLB. The bar has been set high for Blue Jays prospects and we will continue to see over the next few seasons more and more call-ups of these impressive youngsters.
