Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports that Eduardo Escobar and the Toronto Blue Jays are in agreement on a minor-league deal, pending a physical. The Blue Jays add another veteran infielder to spring training who’s very versatile. Escobar has played for six different teams throughout his 13-year career. He was an All-Star for the National League in 2021, the first of his career while leading the National League in triples during the 2019 season. He’s an accomplished veteran who even hit for the cycle when he was a member of the New York Mets. This pro-third-baseman has been traded four different times in his career. In this past season, he was traded from the New York Mets to the Los Angeles Angels.

Eduardo Escobar Inks Minor League Deal
During the 2023 season, Eduardo Escobar struggled most against sliders and cutters. Out of 183 sliders seen, Escobar recorded a.142 batting average, while striking out against the pitch 42 percent of the time. Eduardo played 99 games with both the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2023. In 288 at-bats, Escobar recorded 65 hits, six home runs, and two stolen bases with 34 runs batted in. The 2021 NL all-star also had a .226 batting average. His best game of the 2023 season was on September 3rd when he was a member of the Angels. Eduardo went two for four with a home run and two runs batted in during a 10-6 loss against the Oakland Athletics.
