MLB Betting Picks of the Day 9/7

Our last day of baseball being the only sport on your television was glorious, and the MLB stars had to remind you not to look away for the last month of the season. The Houston Astros continued their demolition of the Texas Rangers, this time led by Jose Abreu’s grand slam and 7-RBI. Jasson Dominguez, or “The Martian” left Earth with his third home run since joining the New York Yankees in their win over the Detroit Tigers. Not to be outdone, Bryce Harper got rid of his beard and hitting slump by knocking in a pair of RBIs in the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 win over the San Diego Padres.

A 2-1 day on Wednesday was another good day for us. Our lone loss came from the Toronto Blue Jays, as they lost 5-2 at the Oakland Athletics. Elsewhere, Bryce Harper hit his H+R+RBI prop with his two-run single for the Phillies, and Logan Gilbert rang up nine Cincinnati Reds batters in the Seattle Mariners win.

We have six games on Thursday, and LWOS has three MLB bets, including some pivotal games for postseason seeding. Remember to tail and BOL!

SEATTLE MARINERS VS. TAMPA BAY RAYS: SEATTLE TT o4.5 (+100)

A great weekend series kicks off tonight when the Seattle Mariners face off against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays are 7-3 in their last ten games and are eight games up in the Wild Card. The Mariners have stalled at 5-5 in their previous, but are still in the Wild Card today. Seattle will send out Luis Castillo, who has been dominant as of late, and the Rays turn to Zach Littell, who has yet to be.

Littell has given up 17 earned runs in his last five starts and has not logged a quality start since August 4th. The Mariners’ offense ranks in the top 10 in hard-hot %, HR/FB rate, and wRC+ with 109. Over the last 30 days, the team has slashed /.281/.368/.504 with an OPS+ of 130. J.P. Crawford (.321 over the previous seven games), Teoscar Hernandez (.357), and Julio Rodriguez (.303, four HRs) will all look to continue their hot streaks.

Take the Mariners’ team total at plus money or their ML at -130.

DETROIT TIGERS VS. NEW YORK YANKEES: LEMAHIEU o1.5 HITS+RUNS+RBIS

Our second pick takes us to the series finale between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees. Eduardo Rodriguez will take on Carlos Rodon, and Rodriguez will have difficulty navigating through the Yankees’ lineup. The Yankees have been playing great ball as of late; they are 8-2 in their last ten and are currently on a five-game win streak that coincides with DJ LeMahieu’s hot streak.

In 41 games since the All-Star break, LeMahieu has slashed .288/.392/.493 with eight home runs compared to his seven home runs in 75 games before the break. He’ll get to face Rodriguez; he has hit .346 off his career. Rodriguez has given up 26 earned runs in 63.1 innings at Yankee Stadium and has been bit by the long ball, too.

Look for LeMahieu to continue his hot streak tonight. His hit (0.5, -270) and walk (0.5, +130) prop are solid plays, too.

ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS VS. CHICAGO CUBS: CUBS ML + TT o4.5 (+115)

They are trying a different pick tonight when the Arizona Diamondbacks face off with the Chicago Cubs in the windy city. The Cubs have been one of the best teams in baseball, on a four-game win streak, and are 7-3 in their last 10. The Diamondbacks have stumbled recently; they are 4-6 in their previous ten and now sit a half-game out of the Wild Card.

During the Cubs’ four-game win streak, they have scored 8, 11, 5, and 15 runs and have gotten great pitching from Justin Steele and their starter tonight, Javier Assad. Assad has been dominant in 2023; he has a 2.69 ERA, a 3-2 record, and 67 strikeouts. Assad will look to continue his hot streak after an eighth-inning shutout of the Cincinnati Reds. For the Diamondbacks, Ryne Nelson has given up 29 earned runs in his last 34.1 innings and 12 runs in his previous six innings.

Cubs hitters Cody Bellinger (.347, four HRs in last seven games), Seiya Suzuki (.448), and Ian Happ (.308) will look to continue their hot streaks tonight.
