Bassitt is fearless in coming out strong early in games and has the luxury of pitching six or more solid innings for the Jays. In June of this season, he picked up a career-high 12 strikeouts, and if that doesn’t spell out workhorse, then I don’t know what does!
Bassitt has a highly respectable ERA of 3.21 in his last seven games and is building quite the reputation of remaining sound in his robust approach of getting hitters to second-guess pitches. Bassitt has, without question, settled in nicely in his first season with the Jays, and we know he has a lot more in store to help the Jays win.
