Even with being a consistent team in the NL Central, the Milwaukee Brewers hold one of the top farm systems in baseball. For the past five seasons, the Brewers have been a mainstay in the NL playoffs (minus the 2022 season). Even with being at the bottom half of the draft order, they have added numerous high-end prospects.
Milwaukee Brewers Top Prospects
OF Jackson Chourio
Chourio was an international signing by the Brewers in 2019. His best asset that he possesses is his speed, which has led to him being moved to centerfield. At the plate, he is able to hit with contact to all parts of the field. The downfall to his game is that his plate discipline has been seen as an area of needed improvement.
So far in the 2023 season in Double-A, Chourio has done a better job with the discipline. He has only struck out 84 times, down from 118 times last season. He has also shown off his speed on the base paths this season as well. So far, he has been able to swipe 32 bases. Chourio has also hit 17 home runs.
The improvements at the plate mixed with his above-average speed have led to Chourio being ranked number two in MLB’s top 100 prospects and being one of the top prospects in the Brewers farm system. If these improvements and developments continue, he could be looking at pushing for an outfield spot in the Majors come 2024.

OF Sal Frelick
Another outfielder on the list, Frelick was Milwaukee’s first-round pick in the 2021 draft at number 15 overall. After being one of the Brewer’s top prospects since being drafted, he made his MLB debut in June of 2023.
What has made him one of the top prospects for the Brewers is above-average hitting. As a lefty, Frelick is able to turn on pitches with a short swing and good discipline at the plate. He is seen as more of an “average-over-power” type of hitter at this point of his career (15 MiLB home runs in 197 games). He currently sits at number 22 in the top 100 prospects in baseball.
On the base paths, Frelick has above-average speed which was on display throughout his time in the minors as well. He stole a career-high 24 bases last season between three different levels of the minor leagues. So far at the plate for the Brewers, he has been able to display his plate discipline. He has walked more times than he has struck out (16 to 13). He has also brought a spark to the team.
Defensively, he is seen as a corner outfielder with a good arm.
C Jeferson Quero
Another 2019 international signing by the Brewers, Quero has struggled with injuries since being signed. In 2021, he suffered a concussion, a hamstring injury, and a left shoulder injury. This limited him to a total of 23 games that season.
What has made Quero one of the top prospects in the Brewers farm system is his defense. Known as a catcher with an above-average arm, he mixes that with top-end fielding skills as well.
At the plate, he has good pitch recognition and discipline. He has also added some more pop to his game through his development. So far in 2023, he has hit 13 home runs. Last season he only totaled 10.
With the injury history, Quero has to prove his longevity for more experience. But if he’s able to continue developing and improving, the Brewers should have a solid catcher in the next season or two. As of now, he sits as the number 34 prospect in baseball and one of the top prospects for Milwaukee.
RHP Jacob Misiorowksi
A second-round pick in the 2022 draft by Milwaukee, Misiorowksi has quite the frame on him at 6-7. But, he has been riddled with injuries throughout his career, which includes a torn right meniscus in 2021.
But with all of the injury history, he is still viewed as a potential top-end rotation piece, thanks to the arsenal he holds as a pitcher. Included in this arsenal are two above-average pitches in his fastball and slider. His fastball can touch triple digits and has created a lot of swings and misses. The slider he possesses sits around the mid-80s. Along with these two pitches is a low 90s cutter.
His one downfall has been his command. It is lacking at times but is something that he has been able to work on in the minors. So far in the 2023 season, he has held batters to a .177 batting average and has been able to put up 98 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings.
Seen as a top arm in the Brewers farm system, Misiorowski is ranked 38th in the top 100 and could push for a Major League roster spot in 2024.
3B Tyler Black
The left-handed swinging Black was a competitive balance pick by the Brewers in 2021 and is viewed as an above-average hitter. This is in big part thanks to his bat speed, hand-eye coordination, and plate discipline he displays.
Black is not seen as a huge power-hitting threat. He has been able to put up 14 home runs this season between Double-A and Triple-A.
On the defensive side, he has above-average speed but does not have a set-in-stone position due to his lack of arm strength. Along with the speed in the field, Black has been a threat on the base paths, stealing 48 bases in 2023.
Overall, the Milwaukee Brewers farm system contains helpful pieces both on the offensive side as well as on the mound. These players, among others, should be making a push for the big leagues in the not-so-distant future.
